Top 5 Things Admission Counselors Do On The RoadJaroco
Throughout the fall of each school 12 months, I travel…a lot. I wake up early, catch flights across the country, and search the Hertz parking great deal for rental cars with back-up cameras. During this time, I’m seldom at my desk, we’m meeting a great deal of awesome pupils, and learning about the cool and exciting things pupils are doing. Nevertheless when I’m not on an airplane or at the rental car counter, here’s just what I’m probably doing…
- Interviews and Receptions and tall School visits
Check your senior high school’s hallways for our visit posters. You should see our poster outside your counseling office if we are coming to your school over the next couple of weeks. We’ll also be doing Discover USC presentations on campus and through the entire United States and abroad.
- Hoarding Pens
If there clearly was something you should bring with you a school that is high, it’s a pen. We will provide you with something to write in, but we don’t provide something to compose with. We give some pretty useful information at these visits, so it’s generally useful to write down a few notes. Last i visited schools in southern Virginia week. I started the week with about ten extra pens and ended with two.
- Responding to questions
We fork out a lot of time questions that are answering we travel (and really through the year.) But, whenever we are on the way, this is our central mission. We make an effort to answer all for the question you have while we are in your area. SO, the best piece of advice I can give you is ASK YOUR ISSUES. It’s also easier to answer questions when we are standing in front side of you then to email us later.
- Sitting within my car
I sit in my car…a lot… Sometimes it feels like I save money time in my car than I do in the particular senior school. Often I’ll check Facebook (I’m old) or Snapchat, and make some funny updates with the latest filters (recently the bunny is my personal favorite.) Inevitably I find yourself sitting in my car much longer than I should when I’m (still) playing Hamilton and trying down my best (read worst) rap abilities. That reminds me! Anybody filling out the Quick Takes yet? Remember, brief, sweet, and just be YOU! This isn’t trick.
- Eating local but drinking Starbucks
Have any good restaurant recommendations that aren’t Chipotle? Send them our way! We love to explore towns and learn about where your home is. Understanding where you come from, helps us understand the application. We would like to get a feel for your community and experience what you encounter on a daily basis. I tried an amazing Greek place last week that was in a totally random location…thanks Yelp!
